Hi Wendy it depends on the exact texture you're looking for. You could use paper napkins and mod podge to give some light texture.
I haven't tried modpodge yet ... I was thinking more of twine or rope with small beads ... don't know what will stick to ceramic !
Here's one way you can add twine to your ceramic lamp!
Wendy: I think Mod Podge is the way to go... I won't be too heavy on the ceramic and could even be painted!
This may help!
There are some textured spray paints out there that would work.
I'll check out the local hardware stores... thanks!
Hello there a wealth of spray paints with textures finishes out there. I would suggest starting to look there. In addition to the spray paint you can also add metallics like rubn buff which giveS it more depth and luster.
If you want a thick coarser application something like Bondo might be recommended- Prior to painting
I will look for rub n buff, too! Didn't think of Bondo ... gives me so many ideas! Thank you!!
Rustoleum makes a great texture paint that looks like stone. I painted 2 lamps with it and OMG they turned out great.
I've used it before and it is great, but I'm after a little more ... thanks!
