- 1- 6 ft. Treated Decking board
- Pneumatic nail gun
- Nails - 2"
- Sand paper
If you've been following my recent projects, you know we recently remodeled our deck.
This project utilizes the leftover drops from our deck boards. It was a FREE and simple way to add just a little decor to the deck. If you don't have leftover deck boards you can still make this easy project for less than $10 (assuming you have the nailer and nails).
I decided I wanted to make two different size vases.
- 4 deck boards at 10 inches (small vase sides)
- 4 deck boards at 18.5 inches (tall vase sides)
Cut List cont.
- 2 deck boards at 3 1/4" x 5 5/8" (bottom of both vases)
Sand all boards and edges.
Next, I take my nail gun and laod 2 inch nails into it. Take extra time to make sure you hold the nail gun straight when nailing boards together so you don't blow a nail out the edge.
If you do, you can pull the nail out with pliers and try again.
I start by nailing the sides to the base. I nail the opposite sides first.
Then nail the other sides together.
Here I am putting together the smaller vase.
The finished project!
You could trim off the rounded edges and square it off. I personally wanted something quick and easy and I like the rounded edges so I skipped that step.
The final project!
I used some faux flowers due to limited access to getting live plants, but live plants would look amazing too!
