Painted Color Block Kitchen Containers

When we remodeled our kitchen last year, I wanted to re-use things I already had on hand as much as possible. One of the things I did was paint some of the kitchen accessories to match the new color scheme. It was an easy change that added a pop of color to ordinary containers and basket.

Gather your supplies

Gather your supplies. I grabbed three plain glass canisters and a boring brown basket.

Take the pasta out of the containers...I did this after I took the picture. I used three colors of spray paint (yellow, sea glass, and poppy red.)

Prep the Canisters

Clean and dry the glass jars thoroughly. Decide how far up you want the color block to go, then tape off the area with Painters Tape. I spray painted two thin coats on the glass, allowing it to dry in between coats.

Spray the Basket

I also painted the basket. I used two thin coats on the outside of the basket and let dry.

Once the paint has dried, remove the painters tape and display in your kitchen! I love the pop of color that the paint added to these plain kitchen accessories!
