Repurposed Farm Window
I found this really cool farm window on my parents’ farm and wanted to incorporate it into my house. I tried putting it in several different places, but it needed something…
Since we don’t have children yet, and our fur-babies are our children – We decided to find a fun way to frame photos of them!
This is such a quick and simple DIY, all you need is an old window, tacky glue, twine, nails, and of course, photos.
You can easily find old windows on craigslist, Facebook marketplace, or even neighbors getting new windows. For newer windows you want to make more authentic looking, or that farmhouse-style, you can easily rough-up some spots with sandpaper or use a dark grey acrylic paint to add details of an old window
Step 1: Prep your photos, depending on the size of the windowpane and the number of photos you’ll need.
Step 2: Hammer in a nail on each end of the window pane and double knot twine all the way across. This is what you’ll hang the window pane from.
Step 3: Dab a bit of tacky glue on each corner of every photo on the front and place it face down on the glass panes and wait for it to dry and you’re all set!
The best part about tacky glue is that it dries clear and will blend well with the black and white photos.
If you don’t have tacky glue you can use hot glue or double-sided tape. No one will even notice.
How easy was that!
