How to wash a hand made mop head doll?

Maybe you could gently wash it by hand in the sink or a plastic dish washing tub with a little bit of Dawn dish soap.

The temptation is there to just put it in the washing machine and let it do the job. It would depend what the doll is made of...all cloth, part plastic, all plastic and a mop. You might consider either baby shampoo in a sink, let soak, maybe add some Oxyclean ( use the dollar tree brand, it is a hydrogen based bleach-a lot cheaper and does the same job). Also, the condition of the doll is something to consider, what shape is it in & what it has been exposed to. Thinking about it a 25 year old doll is really not that old. Best to you.

I would probably recommend hand washing it.

It would be better to try and soak it in the kitchen sink with some dishsoap, rinse well, and then hang to dry. You could also consider laying it in the top rack of your dishwasher and running just the rinse cycle. That way the is not getting bounced and twisted around like in the washing machine. It would be very wet so I would have a bucket ready when you take it out. Then perhaps you could lay it outside on a large pizza pan that has holes in it so it can drain and dry.

Put the doll in a pillow case and wash on me tile maybe add a couple of rubber bands to keep strands tame.

My DDL put the grandkids stuffed toys in a pillow case and put them in the washing machine. (front loader) so I would think you could treat this doll the same.
