Easy DIY Project - Updating Old Planters to Give Them a Fresh New Look
I have some older containers that I had purchased about 3 years ago that had become very faded from the sun,
so I wanted to give them a refresh.
I really like the shape of these planters, the size, they were budget friendly, and have held up great.. except for the color. They had certainly taken on a faded out color that I wasn't really fond of, so
I chose to give them an update before planting them up for the summer.
I used a piece of cardboard underneath the planters to protect the surface of the table I was using outdoors and with a simple can of black gloss spray paint and a few minutes of my time and they look pretty much like new.
I am always amazed at what a difference a few minutes and some paint can do to something.
The next thing I did was add in my potting soil and starter fertilizer and it was time to plant them up!
I chose to use a beautiful Salvia as the centerpiece (or thriller plant), and surround it with Coral pink colored petunia's.
They turned out so pretty.
I am looking forward to seeing the flowers fill in and I am loving the bright color combination with the updated black planters!!
