So you are planting a garden? Why not make some easy garden plant stake to add a little glam while you still are keeping track of the row of seeds. They take less than a half hour to make!

Make these cute garden stakes...gather some 16 gauge wire and your chunky beads. Make sure your beads have large holes to fit 16 gauge wire.

Cut a piece of 16 gauge wire 18" long. The best wire is aluminum because it doesn't rust. First, make a swirl at the top of the wire. Next slide on the big hole beads. Then, at the base of the last bead place a pencil and swirl the wire around to make a loop to trap the beads. !6 Gauge aluminum wire bends very easy.

Your last step is to make the tags that are held by the swirl top. I used some white shrink film but you can use white packaging plastic or paint two coats of waterproof Mod Podge on heavy cardstock to make sturdy tags.

Now I have added a little glam to my elevated garden bed and see exactly where the row of green onion seeds are planted!

Suggested materials:
  • Wire   (Dollar Tree)
  • Big hole beads   (Michael's Craft Store)

These are so cute. They would also make great photo holders if stuck into some type of base- maybe polymer clay? They can also be used to identify cheeses on a charcuterie display
