W can I clean lime deposits off my shower doors and fixtures?

Hi Sandra, I would try straight vinegar mixed with baking soda so you have a paste that you can smear on there and leave for 24 hours. If your very careful you could consider trying a razor blade to scrap some of it off as well.

This isn't a DIY but it was the only thing that worked for me. Wet & forget Shower. You spray once a week after the last person showers. It is washed away the following day when someone showers. It has a pleasant smell and my glass doors look brand new, not to mention the no slip surface that no matter what I tried would not come clean. Initially I applied it every 3 days because there was so much build up.

Another option is white cleaning vinegar if it's just the lime deposits. However, it's difficult to saturate for surfaces like a shower door.

Awesome spray clean from the dollar stores. It cleans it all off, rinse and dry. The problem is keeping it clean because in a short time the build up is back. The only way to keep clean after cleaning with Awesome (it totally works, I have the same issue with the plastic jets) it to use an old towel to dry the water off after a shower.

I like Lime Away! ...works great! ...you may have to soak on a rag and hold against lime for a minute or two.

I like Lysol Lime and Rust for this kind of staining.

Use a Mr Clean magic eraser you wet it and then scrub down the door and rinse- I don't use anything else now- here are a couple more ideas

Try CLR

I spray the glass with vinegar and use a Mr Clean sponge (those white sponges). works very well and gets all the deposit off.

White vinegar. Straight. Must soak overnight so dip rags in vinegar and lay over fixtures

This will clean your entire bathroom. Just do not use on granite or marble as vinegar will mare the finish.

It can be used on tiles, glass, and the potty.

Heat up 1 cup of white vinegar, mix in about 1/4 cup of Dawn Premium. Not the dollar store kind, because it is too thin. When mixed, pour into a spray bottle and fill with water. Shake. Spray down the grout and let it sit overnight. In the morning rinse. If you have stubborn stains, spray again. Use this mixture a few times a week. It will keep your grout and tiles clean. Also works wonders in the toilet bowl to keep hard water stains at bay. Oh you only have to heat the vinegar one time when you add the Dawn.
