Tina I would lightly sand with a 300 grit sandpaper. Use a good high gloss acrylic paint. Benjamin Moore Advance or Sherwin Williams Pro Classic. Bring a door into the store for a color match. You may be able to just touch up. If not paint the entire door. If you have to paint the entire door, ask the salesperson which primer is best for high gloss

If you want them uniform and you don't have an exact paint match, you will most likely have to do a complete refinish. When you say high gloss, you didn't say if it is enamel or other oil based. That will factor into the process you use to paint. You can't go straight over oil based with latex paint. It sounds to me like, without more information, your best bet is to sand down and paint, choosing whatever you want for your style. I've had white kitchen cabinets and we are too messy for them. Maintenance was a pain. If I painted, I would choose a cream with brown glaze or gray paint for upkeep. But that's me.

If you’re renting, absolutely discuss this with your landlord first. They may do the repairs for you or allow you to do it. You’d need to do some sanding, prime, then repaint.
