How do I decorate a patio side table?
I have a small patio side table and the covering on the legs is chipped badly. I wondered what (inexpensive and easy) ideas there were to cover it for the four seasons (although at the least for summer and fall). I had considered washi tape but I heard that wasn't great for outside?

How about painting it? Just sand down the rough or uneven areas, remove all dust so it is squeaky clean. Then use a spray paint. I do a prime coat first, then two light coats of paint in your desired color (to avoid drips), and finish with at least two coats of sealer if using outdoor year round.
Painting will be so much easier! And you’re right washi tape won’t hold up.
I agree with the paint idea. That looks like steel to me so I would use Rustoleum's spray paint - that will probably give you the longest lasting finish.
Catie: something like this may work great!

I also agree that paint is your best option. Also agree to sand down any chips, etc. As these legs are metal, you can easily put a metal attachment on your drill and use that to pretty much remove everything on the metal.
I always use Rustoleum primer spray first. It seems to make a big difference in having paint hold up outdoors. Rustoleum even makes chalk spray paint now in some great colors!
Seal the paint - especially if you use chalk paint - with a matte spray sealer to keep that chalky look. 😎
paint it

any type of tape would not hold up outside for very long and you would be redoing it again- you can spray paint the legs and top and it will be fine here is some info

I would buy Rustoleum spray paint. They have some great colors and metallics and holds up well. You can also put a clear coat spray over it. Good luck and stay safe!
Washi tape is designed for decorative indoor use only.
Use a paint and primer spray paint in any color you like! To make it last as long as possible, you could also apply a separate primer as the base coat.
How about spray paint
You could use an outdoor spray paint that is paint and primer all in one for an easy fix.
Paint is always a good idea .. just send it off a bit and have fun
Give the legs a bit of a sanding then spray painting them is the fastest and easiest route.
