Go to Google and look up "Companion Plants", this is a natural method of planting other plants with your garden to repel pests, it works very well. I use marigolds with my tomatoes, it keeps pests away.
Hi Nancy, try some of these ideas:
Planting basil in front of tomatoes, using epsom salts in planting holes, interspersing your plants with strongly scented marigold, lavender, sages, thyme, etc. will repel many bugs. Some people place crumpled aluminum foil at the base of tomato plants to deter aphids. You can also make newspaper "collars" to tape around the bottom 3" inches of tomato stems to deter hornworms.
4 tablespoons of oil and 2 tablespoons of chopped garlic mix well let it sit over night the next day take all the garlic out and leave only oil mix oil with a qt of water then put it in a spray bottle
I use neem oil!
You need to find out what is causing these brown spots first in order to treat them. Contact your local garden center and discuss your issues with them.
