Why is my well pump kicking off?
I'm a senior and need a LOT of input please! I have a submersible pump. Within the last 2 weeks the pressure control switch has started kicking off and not coming back on with out my manually having to go out to the wellhouse and reset it. Interestingly enough, it is only doing this (well at this time) when I use the washing machine or try to water my garden. Do you think it's a faulty pressure gauge, pump or tank? I am prepared for the worst case scenario … just hope for the sake of cost it doesn't come to that. I will probably try to do some of the work myself. Thank you all who respond.

Thé best thing you can do is go online to the manufacturers website and read the trouble shooting part of the manual. You can also call the manufacturer. There are several things which can cause this. Clogged lines and filter. It seems to be a pressure problem because it shuts off when you are using a lot of water.
If you do a YouTube search or a Google search there are a lot of ideas.
Call the manufacturer, have in hand the make and model of your well pump. They have trained people there who can help you troubleshoot.
It could be the motor or restricted intake in the air vent. It may just be age. Pumps have a lifespan of about 7 years.
Hi cs1267, you can do a few things, one is look up your issue on the internet, type in the pumps make and model, and the problem you are having, you should get some answers, it should also tell you what things you are to check on. You may have to pull the pump and just do some minor maintenance on it. Hope this helps.

Could just be the pressure switch, mine went not long ago, only wouldn't switch back on when doing the garden etc due to the constant Max flow rate
