DIY 2 in 1 Bathroom Shelf & Pallet Hamper

Our farmhouse bathroom was in need of a bathroom shelf to charge our boys toothbrushes. We built a cheap & fabulous bathroom shelf & pallet hamper to hold all their dirty laundry & hold their toothbrushes at the same time. Our 2 in 1 bathroom shelf & pallet hamper was simple to build & it was totally FREE to create using pallet wood & laundry hamper we already had in our garage.

Taking Apart & Cutting Up Your Pallet

The first thing we did was take apart our pallet. (you can find information on the best way to do this  HERE). Next we cut up the pallet wood to the dimensions you need to fit around your bathroom shelf pallet hamper.

Sanding the Boards & Putting it Together

We sanded our pallet wood boards & laid the boards out next to each other to create the two sides & top of the hamper shelf.

Putting the Palleet Hamper & Bathroom Shelf Together

Using wood glue & his finish nailer he put the pallet hamper together along with 2 pallet wood boards along the bottom, 2 diagonal boards & a cross board to the back to make the shelf more secure for the hamper to fit.

Adding the Laundry Hamper to the Bathroom Shelf

Lastly, we added our metal & cloth hamper from Home Goods to our Bathroom shelf pallet hamper. It fits perfectly inside. I love the look of the canvas laundry bag & metal hamper against the gorgeous character of raw pallet wood.  For more questions about our DIY bathroom shelf & pallet hamper click on the link below.
