Has anyone used Gardner-Gibson Asphalt Fence Post Paint?

We have a farm and I'm looking for anyone who can provide experience information on this product. Also, if anyone has a good recommendation for fencing paint that is a long term solution. We've enclosed about 50 acres so I want to re-apply as little as possible. Thanks!

I have never used it but it gets 5 stars on most of the reviews I found and says it stops rot, rust, etc. I googled reviews for the name of the paint and found nothing negative about it. Hope this helps

Hi Kathy I did the same research as Cheryl - it has mostly positive reviews.

Couldn't find any reviews of the product but did find Jetcoat Farm Pride Acrylic Fence and Barn Paint and it got perfect reviews at Amazon.

Hi Kathy, here is what you need to know, I found this on a site where there are reviews on this product,. I think that f you follows these instructions and it should work well for you, otherwise I would say, you may want to try something else

I have read A LOT of reviews of this paint. So, I'd like to share mine.

This is a tricky paint to work with. It works fine but take some precautions.

Buy the following (if you don't already have): 1. Gloves 2. Drop cloth (they sell cheap ones) 3. Drill attachment paint stirrer 4. Paint thinner

I used my Wagner paint sprayer with this paint and it worked fine. First, I poured 1/3 of the paint in another bucket, and poured some thinner in there. I then stirred thoroughly with the drill attachment for about 3 min. I did this each time I had to refill the bucket.

I love my Wagner paint sprayer. It is one of the smaller ones so I had to stop and refill a lot but also, the clean up was easier. Make sure you clean everything thoroughly with mineral spirits.

You'll want to do everything over the drop cloth. I laid mine down in the parking spot. Made for easy clean up in the end. You will go through many gloves but it's worth it. This paint is messy and sticky.

I painted 3/4 of an acre of farmers fencing (both sides) with 15 gallons of this paint.

I have read that some have had issues with it peeling. Mine is new so it hasn't done that. I wonder if people aren't waiting long enough for their pressure treated wood to dry out. I waited 8 months.

Hello. Generally I will look at Amazon reviews to influence my purchases. You might consider a look at big box hardware for product reviews too. They often save you from bad purchases. Best wishes hope you find the info you need.

You are very wise to look into reviews before using a product. We have an enormous PT deck that we painted with a solid stain which is much like a paint. It failed and although the manufacturer has given us replacement stain ( several 5 gallon containers) and deck cleaner it is a disagreeable labor intense situation. We would’ve made another sealer choice ( clear) knowing that this stain was not as long wearing as advertised. Best wishes on your project

I would look at independent reviews. Stores and website store reviews are usually canned. I have also heard farmers using used motor oil to coat fences.
