Picture frames are my latest obsession in my Home Decor projects. It seams that I am using them lately not only to display family photos on my accent wall but also build with them . I have made soo many home decor pieces that I treasure ... Made few sets of drawers , tool boxes or tray. If you like to read about some of those projects makes sure to check my BLOG HERE on how to make Shabby Chic Drawers . Don't you just like decorate on the budget?

Today I like to share with you another picture frame project. I like to put my 2x3 mini pictures frames that I purchased from Dollar Tree to create super cute lantern.

You will need 4 mini frames , couple of Jenga blocks if you like me dont have a wooden piece handy and some wooden dovels.

This project is super easy ... Just take frames apart ...separate front and back of each frame. Attach frames together and form a cube. E 6000 glue is super handy in that process.

If you follow me for some time you know I love little details so I decided to create mini crosses on a side of my lantern. Thank goodness I had hand saw to help me cut those to size.

Jenga Blocks made super cute base for my lantern. Again little big of glue and all was done

My lantern base and additional decor was done so it was time to match my picture frame color and paint them similar color.

It took me a bit of mixing but I think I got close to a original color of frames.

to keep with its rustic look I decided to reinforce my dowels in the middle with some jute.

Making this lantern was super fun and easy so I decided to add a handle. Little bit of wire and some twine was all that I needed

And my mini picture frame lantern is ready... Hope that you enjoyed that project and will try to make one for yourself.

Don't you think they look awesome with my shutters in the background ? If you like to how build those make sure to How to Build Plantation Style Shutters on the Budget
