When my fridge does that it is usually the freezer coils that froze over. I need to take a hair dryer and defrost the ice. Also sometimes the drain hold freezer over and I use hot water and a turkey baster to clear it out.
As Kim said, find the source of the leak and then fix it. If you cannot find the source, have the make and model numbers ready and call the manufacturer, they will help you troubleshoot the leak.
I had this problem where the water circulating from the freezer into the fridge compartment was leaking and pooling under the veggie crispers. I was told there was a ice blockage so the water could not flow. It was fixed and I haven't had a problem since.
It could be a blocked line, a frozen line, a fitting, a water line. If you can't find it, time to call in some one who has training. Good luck and stay safe!
Many fridges have a drip pan under them. The moisture from the defrost cycle will go there and then evaporate from the heat released from the coils. Check to see if you have one of those. They need to be cleaned periodically.
The above posts are great!! You may consider moving the fridge out. A moldy smell prompted her to move the fridge out. There must have been dripping slowly. She had hardwood floors which were buckling and and discolored.
Hi Deeds, chances are, the drip pan is over flowing. In an other case, the drain from the evaporator could be plugged, if that happens you have to unplug, then thaw the drain hose, usually with a blow dryer Hope this video helps you out,

Could be a freon leak. Does your fridge have a water dispenser? We have a leak where the water hooked up to our ice cube maker.
If it is only 6 years old why not call the manufacturer see what they have to say?

Our leak was from the water dispenser. Our neighbor's leak was from the ice maker. You need to identify the source before you can remedy the issue.
As Kim said, find the source of the leak and then fix it. If you cannot find the source, have the make and model numbers ready and call the manufacturer, they will help you troubleshoot the leak.

You might not have a leak at all...
