How can I stop the inside of caps from rusting,

Bought glass bottles with handles to store milk in, but the inside of the lids keep getting rust build up. Is there anything I can do to stop the rust.

Hello. Is that a picture of your particular bottle it’s hard to say. Perhaps posting a photo might be helpful. They are silicone bottle stoppers used for wine bottles as well as plastic lids for canning jars. Things like this could be an option depending upon what your bottle shape is
You could clean off the rust and then seal them with something that is food safe. Otherwise, put some plastic wrap over the top of the bottle before placing the cap on it.
Paint with clear finger nail polish or a clear sealant like RustOleum. I paint the bottom of shaving cream with polish to prevent rust.
Hi Marie, you col try to coat the inside of the caps with wax, like the wax that some use to seal jams and jellies.
