How to remove a stripped screw?
I am a senior attempting to remodel my kitchen (cosmetic only)! I am taking down upper cabinets and have discovered a lot of the philips head screws are stripped ... any thoughts of a way to remove these? The screws are thredded and about 2" in length.
Hi, can you dig around the head area of the screw, so you can get some vice grips on there?
I've read that a big rubber band can really help in that situation, place it directly over the head of the screw and use it to get a grip with your screw driver.
Here's several ideas........

I'd try a screw extractor kit, this one is sold on Amazon: https://rstyle.me/+p-RnYU3vvL9ogzj82s6ZJA

Stretch a wide thick rubber band over screw driver tip. Push into shredded screw head and twist.
Get a bunch of "fat" rubber bands. The kind the post office uses when they have a large bundle of mail or you see around broccoli in the fresh produce section. Put it in the head to give it traction. Then you can back the screws out.
There's also a product you can purchase "speed out" my husband has used but before we got the kid, it was rubber bands all the way.
