getting oil out of a cushion?
Start with oil dry or cat litter to pull the oil as much as possible. You might need to do it a few times. Baking soda can also be used. Once you are getting no more residue pulling up, then use a degreaser like GP66 to clean it. If at all possible, remove the cover because you will be pushing the cleanser into the cushion.
Can you perhaps take a seam ripper and gently unpick the stitches in the middle of the seam of one side just to the extent that you can slide the cover off? After hand washing the cover, put it back on the cushion, then hand stitch the seam closed.
What is the fibre content of the fabric in the cover?
I would not advise you to use Clorox bleach as others have suggested, as the fabric/dye used in the cover may not be colourfast.
Hi Karen, this link might help you
Hi Karen, here's some suggestions that may help you with the motor oil removal. I hope so!
I found a couple ideas to help with your stain, Karen.
Place a few drops of Dawn dish liquid on the stain. Blot it with a clean cloth to work it into the stain. A few drops of water can be added as well. If the stain is really stubborn, scrub it with an old toothbrush.
Rub a liquid laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, or degreaser into the stain. Let it sit 3–5 minutes. Wash separately with detergent in the hottest recommended water, adding a little Clorox® Regular Bleach2 with CLOROMAX® to whites
Hello. Using Dawn or Tide might be an option.

Begin by blotting the stain with a soft cloth or paper towel until no more oil transfers to the cloth. If the stain is dried, a small amount of WD-40 can be applied to make the stain “fresh” again. Place a few drops of Dawn dish liquid on the stain. Blot it with a clean cloth to work it into the stain.
I would go to an auto store and buy some cleaner degreaser. Walmart sells a good one called Purple Power. Spray it on or if it is washable spray and put in the washer
Thanks so much I’ll try this!!!
