What are the adjacent room/furniture styles/ colors? Do you want calming or exciting? If you go bold, be prepared to put multiple coats of primer on should you ever wish to neutralize a bright/deep color. White generally goes with everything. Neutrals encourage longer stays at the table.

Do you have a picture? Are you attracted to warm or cool colors? Want neutral with maybe a bold colored accent wall? I think a light color like light gray would be great with a dark gray or even wall papered accent wall?

  • I'd go with a beige, gray or white so that you can change up the decor easily.

Hi Esmeralda, without knowing what colors your funiture, etc. might be, I woud simply suggest a nice pure white. This will look clean, reflect light, and make the area appear clean and larger. By going white nearly any decor you chooose will look nice and especially colorul artwork will pop!

Depends on your decor or style, color of furniture, etc. Are there any colors that you hate? If so eliminate those. Now are there any colors you love? Those could be keepers. After deciding on a color then decide on a shade.

I always go a shade darker then originally intended when picking colors.

My advice is to go with a neutral color and then decorate with vibrant colors. I use to have rooms painted in colors and then now I am going neutral because I would be "stuck" and unable to change decor outside of a color palette without repainting. I believe that is why "greige" has become such a popular option.

What it boils down to is any color that makes you happy is a good choice.
