  • It's important to have good 'task lighting' where you work. Lights under the cabinets are great for this. I also like a light over the sink and over any islands. Pendants look great here.

Hello. We have multiple recessed can lights throughout the kitchen. Both in the kitchen area. To recess Canlite‘s are at the sink as well as the posing elevated bar where two dining barstools are situated. Over the main dining area there is a circular chunky candle chandelier.

Undercabinet lighting, over island lighting, ceiling fan with lights over table, lighting over sink, 7 can lights, and multiple skylights. You don't want your ceiling looking like swiss cheese, but you don't want to work in shadows. Have a highly qualified electrician do the installation, because they'll need to know codes re: insulation issues of can lighting. Make sure everything is on dimmers, with sufficient lumens to light your task areas. If you bake, know that halogens will melt some pastry work.

You can always add toe kick lighting, in drawer lighting, in cabinet lighting, if you like.

We also have 2 lights in the kitchen. One on each side of the sink. They are medium sized metal light fixtures I got at amazon for $11.44 each. Their prices change depending on the amount of sales. Shortly after I ordered mine the price sky rocketed up to over $40 a fixture.

Over the sink and another on the ceiling in the kitchen. We don't have a dimmer switch, but would love one. Recess lighting around the sink and cupboards looks so nice. I have an Edison light fixture similar to this one: https://amzn.to/2EpP3pz this is right in the center of the kitchen ceiling.
