I love all things boho! I had a space in our dining room I wanted to fill, so I created this easy art using a frame I already had and some inexpensive supplies.

Supplies

This project becomes even more budget friendly if you use a frame you already have. The things you’ll need:

•Frame- you choose the shape and size

•Cotton yarn- color of choice

•Rattan and wood Earring charms- the possibilities are endless as these come in different shapes and colors.

•Cardboard

Cut your cardboard to size

Frames usually include an insert the size of the frame. Use this as a guide to cut your cardboard.

Wrap your cardboard

Determine which will be the front and Begin wrapping your yarn around your cardboard. Be sure not to start at the very end to prevent the yarn from sliding off.

Wrapping the yarn

Pushing yarn together at the top
Pushing yarn at bottom to close the gaps

Do this until your entire cardboard is wrapped.

Your beginning and ending strings should be tucked into the back to prevent unraveling.

Lay out your design and take a picture

This is the fun part! Depending on the size and shape of your frame, with your frame facing right side down, figure out the placement of your pieces. There are so many possibilities, this will make your piece unique to you. Once you’ve got your placement lay them on the frame right side down and take a picture.

This step is important because if anything shifts you’ll have a reference.

Add cardboard and close

Carefully place the piece of cardboard with your wrapped yarn into the frame, right side down.

Close your frame and hang where desired!

Troubleshooting:

If your pieces fall when frame is places upright. Open, reposition pieces and add extra cardboard to the back of your frame so the pieces are wedged tight and don’t shift.
