I get really loud banging in my walls when using the tap, toilet, washing machine (very old house ). .
Sounds like the old pipes came loose from what was holding them tacked down. Very common in older homes. About the only remedy would be to find those water pipes and tie them down again.
Hi Jason: Sounds like you have air in your water pipes. One way to get rid of it is to turn on both the hot and cold water to about 1/8th of the way on all the faucets. Leave the water running for about two minutes. Start from the lowest faucet in the house to the highest faucet. This allows the water pressure of the system to force all of the air from the pipes and out through the faucets.

that sounds like you have air in your pipes ... I would call plumber to help yu out with that

Hi Jason, you will need to try to figure out where the hammering is happening, then you can open the wall or hopefully just add some water pipe strapping to it. Right now your pipes are moving and that is bound to cause a leak.

There are air trap devises that can be installed in your pipes. Air creates a cushion and dampens the air-hammer.
Sounds like you could have a loose pipe in the house. Our water pipes going through the roof were the issue. The brackets holding them down had come loose. We also had a little gadget attached to our tape that help.
