Dollar store: Lyme Away, new toilet brush, long vinyl gloves.

Run the fan before & during the process, as Lyme Away stinks.

I completely coat the toilet bowl, leave it for 10 minutes, then scrub it with the brush, leave it for 5 minutes, then flush it and scrub it some more and flush again.

I would include the rim and wipe it clean with paper towels.

If you’ve boys “not aiming” properly, then the floor should be cleaned with Windex or Chlorox wipes.

Hello. Are you having problems with commercial cleaners failing? In my situation with hard water I find that many of the DIY tips and tricks seen here and commercial cleaners fail. My solution is manually scrubbing with a pumice stick.

My solution was the pumice stick. This is excellent way to remove stains and rings in the toilet. When commercial toilet cleaners fail -this is my go to. Great for thick crusted calcium mineral build up that the toilet waterbowl collects.

They are found at my local Walmart for less than two dollars -good for multiple uses. Be sure to follow the use instructions, soaking the pumice stone in water for a few minutes. While the stone is soaking, grab your toilet brush and splash water up around the ring. Note: It’s very important to keep both the stone and the surface wet while cleaning to avoid scratching your porcelain.

This will clean your entire bathroom

Do not use it on granite or marble

Heat up 1 cup of white vinegar, mix in about 1/4 cup of Dawn Premium. Not the dollar store kind, because it is too thin. When mixed, pour into a spray bottle and fill with water. Shake. Spray down the grout and let it sit overnight. In the morning rinse. If you have stubborn stains, spray again. Use this mixture a few times a week. It will keep your grout and tiles clean. Also works wonders in the toilet bowl to keep hard water stains at bay. Oh you only have to heat the vinegar one time when you add the Dawn.

    Looking for chemicals or ways?

  • I like to use the Scotch-Brite toilet wand with disposable heads. That way, I don't need to keep dirty toilet brushes in my bathroom.

If you have a bottle of Coke Cola, pour it in the toilet overnight. Should eat away at the grunge overnight. Best wishes.

I also use dental cleansing tablets. add denture tabs and let disolve overnight. Clean with brush and flush. This helps remove the "ring" of hardwater stains.

Hi Sue. I use Comet Cleanser with bleach. Sprinkle it in the bowl and use a toilet brush to scrub it with. For deep cleaning I make a bucket of warm water with a splash of bleach and a squirt of dish soap. I wear gloves and wipe the entire toilet inside and out. For in between cleaning I wipe it down with a Clorox wipe.

  • Pour in a can of coke and let it sit overnight. Then scrub and flush in the morning

I had a toilet replaced and the new one did not have that finished fired smooth porcelain all the way down to where to where the water leaves the commode upon was - well, like a bisque finish - a little rough. It stayed stained looking no matter how I scrubbed or what I used. I mentioned it to a friend with a pool business and he said to use white vinegar. I put a gallon into the cleaned-as-best-I-could toilet and let it sit for 48 hours. (we have an alternate commode!) When I came back to it and lifted the lid, the stain at the bottom was gone!! $2.50 for the vinegar - well worth the relief of having a stain-free Object of Necessity!!
