Can I replace the current tub and shower in a mobile home with a drop in shower only from Lowe’s?

Sure you should be able to do that. I've seen replacement showers in mobile homes. It's much lighter than a full bathtub so you probably don't need extra supports underneath

I don't see why not. Remove all the old shower/tub, making any repairs from leaks, etc. Depending on the size unit you put in, you may need to do some framing or repair. Good luck and stay safe!

The hard part is getting the new one in in one piece. Do some measuring of doorways etc. If it will fit then should work

Make sure the molded drain outlet is the same size as your existing drain pipe.

Sometimes mobile homes have smaller components to save money.

    Be prepared for unforeseen conditions.

TClapp, it should be possible, but you'll need to take accurate measurements and be certain the drop-in shower will be able to be moved into the mobile home and that the drain area will match up correctly. You might want to search a site that actually has mobile home supplies for an appropriate drop in shower.

Yes but you might have to do some framing in as it’s unlikely it will be an exact fit. You could use the area to store towels.

Hello TClapp. I think you should be able to replace the shower in your mobile home. Take the measurements with when shopping for the new one. You should be able to remove the old one and install the new one easily if the measurements are exact on. This would be the perfect time to replace any hardware like faucet, shower head, etc. And, of course, caulk around all edges.

I know that you can replace a tub and shower combo but we had it done professionally and it was done as part of a total gut job on our master bathroom. I know the contractors had to do some different framing and plumbing to get it to fit and work right. And this was a regular home construct (it was an older home). I really think you can do the same in your bathroom as well. You can do DIY or hirer someone. Our walk in shower came from Lowes, and it is great. Good luck

Take your measurements to Home Depot and get their advice on installing a shower.
