Insulating inside walls?
I live in an old brick home with Sheetrock on interior walls but I hear every noise outside and it holds little heat. How do I insulate the interior walls without tearing them out.

The usual way is to blow in insulation from the outside or inside make small holes in between the studs. Foam works best as all of the other materials will settle leaving gaps as the material compacts.
Blown in insulation is the best way to go

Please note, per foam insulation installers: if you use blown in foam, you will not be able to add to electrical wiring you may want in the future.
Is your home's attic insulated and all voids sealed in the attic? Although this is not a 100% cure, it saves old plaster work and does not interfere with making first floor electrical changes.
Bottom line: if you need electrical additions, do them before doing insulation, even if blown in type in attic. Cellulose will settle over many years, but is easier to work around, vs. foam. Friends who have had foam installed from the outside attest to improved insulative qualities.
Hello there,
Em has listed all the easier insulations available for your problem and Cheryl A has posted about Roof insulation. I may be possible to get a grant towards insulation your home, do make enquiries with your local council or authority! Best wishes.

You can have a contractor come out and do spray foam or spray insulation. There will be a few holes inside but it will insulate your place like mad.
Get someone to blow some insulation in for you. It is a DIY job but you really do not want to be breathing in the insulation. It is also a hot and tedious job to be doing in an attic. I had mine done a few years ago. The cost was under $1500
I would think you could do it from the attic, but may want to hire a professional.
Foam insulation has become very popular again, now that it is safer. The company puts it in the wall cavity, usually from outside, but, can do the attic also. Check in your area for contractors who have the special equipment. If you watch HGTV at all, they use a lot of foam insulation in remodels. Good luck and stay safe!
Take a look here for spray foam vs cellulose, the pro's and con's:

The home could also be losing much heat, and 'letting in noise' due to the type of windows and window glass that you presently have.
Have you looked into possibly replacing either some of the old windows, or some of the old window glass with newer choices that are more insulating, and provide more of a sound barrier?

Hi Brenda, you can add foam sheet insulation to the interior walls and put paneling over it
ceiling as well, hope this helps, it goes over the existing walls

Could you put some kind of thick curtains up? That may help block the noise
