I’m sure you can get super creative with this. Have you tried the search bar at the top left? No doubt Hometalk has loads of ideas and inspiration for inside or outside.
You can do this. The plants will need some drainage - so be sure to put some stones in the bottom of the pot.
Here's a similar idea, this is outdoors but could be adapted to the indoors:

One important thing to remember for your indoors tub is to have drainage holes in the bottom and a container lid underneath to catch the overflow of watering.
To keep it lighter you could fill it partially with plastic bottles, Styrofoam peanuts or Styrofoam balls.
I agree, you will need drainage and the stones are one way to do it. As far as the bin is concerned, you can cover it with fabric or wrap & glue rope around it for a new look.
That’s great, thanks for the ideas,, making a memorable garden for my Mother,, have a plant she had as long as I can remember.been cutting and rooting many of the stems ,,it’s called “Coat of Many Colours”,,
missing her greatly 😢
Hi Jane, i hope this gives you some ideas for making a flower pot from large plastic storage bin. Please remember, you need drainage holes in the bottom and since you are using it indoors you need something under it to catch the excess water. Also, these take a lot of dirt, so you may want to put some empty milk cartons in the bottom to take up space and save you on buying lots of soil. Good luck
