Any suggestions for this farm house cupboard?
I have a farm house cupboard almost exactly like this one, except mine isn't in as good of condition. It's been refinished and through a house fire so the wood is not as pretty to look at. I've thought about painting it a dark teal and replace the glass with stained glass. What do you think?

I see the picture didn't make it. The cupboard is from 1880 - 1920. If you know how to attach a photo, let me know. Thank you, Judy
Hi! See the little camera icon just below the box where you reply? That should let you attach a picture. Sometimes you are able to copy and paste a picture right into the box. Try using one of those methods so we can see what you need help with and any of us would love to help!
I think your idea is a good one. I love the color teal.

Dark teal is a good color choice, you could use chicken wire instead of glass? That would also give a farmhouse look.
I love teal. Although when I think farmhouse paint, red comes to mind. But pick the color you want instead of following a trend. You can give it a farmhouse look with punched tin or chicken wire in place of glass. Add farmhouse style decor items and you’ll be set.
Hi Judy, if the wood has been damaged paint is always a great option. You can distress the paint to give it an aged look to match the age of the cabinet as well. If you are painting the cabinet for yourself, any colour that makes you happy is always great. I love the idea of stained glass as well! That would be incredible!
Painting it is a great idea - teal is so fun! Maybe you could find one of those peel and stick window decals that would give a stained glass effect - that would be easier and cheaper than actual stained glass. :)
I, too, love the color teal. Painting it may be enough -- you probably;y then don't need stained glass!
You could paint it or you could distress it or white wash it and also chalk paint is easy and you can get a farm house look with

Do you have pictures
I don't see a picture, but the stained glass sounds so pretty, especially if it has a little teal in it to match the color you want to paint it.
I don't see a picture, but can't wait to see it.
Hope this Helps! Jeremy - https://do-daddy.com
I don't see a photo either, but dark teal with stained glass sounds very pretty.
Hi Judy,
Prepare the wood as best you can, filling and holes or damage. Rub it down smooth when dry. Prime, undercoat and top coat with satin or eggshell finish, or use Chalk paint and then wax over to seal. Teal is a nice colour and should go well.
Hi Judy, I think a primer and some chalk paint will give it new life,
