Dead heading hydrangea bush?
Wow I had the best hydrangea flowers this season . Big beautiful blue blooms for weeks. Now they are dead and faded and look sloppy very sloppy. Over 100 dead flowers. Will it hurt plant to just snip off all the dead flowers? The foliage is bright green but wilted huge flowers are Very slightly. I don’t want to disturb next years bloom.

You can dead head the old blooms. Remember to cut it back in early fall.

You can deadhead your hydrangea now. Dried hydrangea blooms actually make beautiful decor for indoors.
WE always dead head all of our flowers after the blooms have died. This lets nutrients go into greenery.

someone said to cut back in the fall?? I am not sure about doing that. Some grows on new growth some on old despite it being the same plant!!!! Yes u heard me right. I have never seen this before but notices buds this spring on both old and new branches. So should I just cut it all back?
