Can you use acrylic paint to paint wood and block outside?
Just noticed that the paint i have been using is acrylic???I am painting the db trim and the wood around the lattice.........Hopefully when I bought this I asked them if it could be used, (I usually am good about this when I buy paint) of course there are all young people and probably just want to make a sale.... 8-17-20

Hello. They do you sell outdoor exterior grade acrylic paints meant for outside use. We commonly use that on out decking and lattice.
Take a look at your acrylic container to make sure it is exterior grade acrylic and you should be good.
Sandy: Home Depot or Lowes can counsel you on a good brand of outdoor acrylic paint. They do know their stuff!
If you are unsure read the label, see if it says exterior. if not then it is not made for the outside, it will not hold up under weather conditions because it is water based.Hopefully you have the right product.

You can add a few coats of exterior polyurethane just to be sure.
I agree, only use exterior paint for outdoors. They also make sealers for exterior use. Good luck and stay safe!
If it is outside I would use lacquer spray to seal the color in.

If it isn't exterior grade - not all of your hard work is lost. You can cover it with a sealant when you are done.

You should use either a fence paint or stain or primer , undercoat and gloss top coat for wood, and Masonry paint for Blocks. At the very worst it wont last more than the season, or at the best, you will have primed it all ready for the top coat.
