Look at Amazon. They have amazing art prints for very inexpensive prices. Pick something that has the colors of your furniture or carpeting.

I don't have a photo of my living room, but we have it in a country style, because we live on a farm.

I find art and decor that I love and go with that!

Just Prime over the canvas. My favorite primer is this Valspar its thick like pudding, great coverage.

Look around at different stores...thrift shops, consignment shops. I needed art for over my couch and one day walked into Kohls and saw two pictures (muted flowers) with just the colors I needed. Still have them on my wall and enjoy them.

I went to amazon.com and entered wall art in their search bar. They have LOTS of items and I found huge wall clocks to be my favorite.

I love Home Goods and Kirklands for wall art. Look around see what colors you have with your furniture and pick a theme. Both these places have great artwork that is not expensive

You can take pictures from wall calendars and frame them for some cheap art

Aside from the great suggestions on where to buy it, the bigger picture is, pun intended, that you need to know how to create a design or a composition for all the different wall elements.

The easiest way to teach you to do that, is to look at it like a vase of six different kinds of flowers… Meaning how do you balance a mishmash of different sizes, different colors and different materials? The answer is, lay it out on the floor, first. Then stand back and squint at it from about 6 feet away.

Hi Peggy, I believe you should chose your art from your heart. Art should express your color choices and make your soul smile. I'm not sure if you have kids or grandkids but you can buy empty frames and hang them on the wall and if it's your style, tape the little one creative works in the frame. You can also hang beautiful fabrics inside the frame or even straight on the wall. Trust yourself and if something speaks to you, and you can hang it then go for it!!

I agree that you should choose art that you love for your home. In the first home that my husband and I bought, we went with lots of brown. I don't know why... perhaps because it was easy? When we moved into our next house, I decided to go with only things I loved. Now our house is bright, fun and colorful. You just have to pick out pieces that really speak to you.

Art doesn't really have to go with anything. If you love the art you will be happy with it for a long time. Sometimes it takes a while to realize what you love so don't be in a rush. Here are some sites with lots of choices, and they have big sales frequently.

I purchase things I like, in all honesty. There isn't a formula or a set of rules to follow so my suggestion would be to shop around, take your time, visit various types of stores if you can, and buy what pleases you.

Art is subjective. You have to buy what you love, or make your own on a large canvas.
