I would use velcro on the edges of the sink and make a skirt!

Hi Rr, could you add a picture so we can better advise? Could you possibly paint the sink base?

  • If it's a pedestal sink, I agree with Nan. Make a skirt. If it's a cabinet, I would paint it.

So sorry, I hit the sent button before I clarified it. The sink top, or vanity top as it is called is a cultured marble from HD. My bathroom is white and this sticks out. It is cheaper to buy the entire 31 inch wide vanity with the sink, then just the top. Since this is me figuring out how to just paint? the marble white, does anyone have any ideas?

Hello. I have had some discoloration at the bottom of my sink near the drain stopper. I found it to be a collection of calcium lime and using the CLR or whink remover the discoloration dissolved—went away.

If not a mineral build up—you may want to consider a coating to your sink to give it a completely new look.

Good to know! I used Whink on my double sink stopper areas on my newer— 2015- moen brushed nickle finish without any damages. I will be sure to avoid the CLR. It must be a different formula.

      Thank you for the tip.

Ok, this is not how to fix the rust but after spending a ton of time googling how to prevent it.. nothing comes up. Only how to clean the rust and why the rust. Iron. I wonder does anyone know how to prevent rust after cleaning it or when you first install the sink. I did read to dry the bottom of the sink when done, but really, how many people will do or remember this? Now that is what I will try to find an answer to in a post. Prevent the rust
