Hello. The first thing I might suggest to try would be Murphy’s oil soap. Certainly stronger chemicals and adhesive remover’s might be effective but that would it would depend on your wood floor seal and risk of damage.

Hi! I had this where carpet with rubber backing was installed on wood stairs. I spent hours scraping a dozen or so steps! Remove all the build up you can. I used a scrub brush, too. Be careful scraping since you don't want to gouge your floor. Then, I used Goo Gone to work it loose. I also applied rags wrung out in hot water. If I had a steamer back then, I would have used it, but I didn't, so I made do. My final go over was with soapy water and a soft bristle brush. It all came off! Fortunately, you have a smaller area, but, these methods do work! Good luck and stay safe!

Hi, do you have a pic of the floor? What type of finish is it?

Start with a plastic scraper to remove as much excess as possible. Then use vegetable oil or goo gone to loosen up what is still left. Scrub with a netted rag would be most effective but you could use any rough dish rag. Once you get it all cleaned off, then do a regular mopping of the floor.

Do not use a metal scraper, use a plastic one that you can pickup in an auto store for a couple of bucks. I would use Acetone, the kind you get in the hardware store not nail polish remover.

Hi Lolly, are you able to use a fine or extra fine grit sand paper to take off any access rubber and then add just a little bit of clear coat (assuming your floor has one) with a small paint brush?

Scrape off as much as possible with a plastic scraper. Then try cleaning with Murphy's Oil Soap.
