Safely take a wall decal off to be moved to another room?

Most wall decals are not reusable, but you could try heating each piece with a blow dryer to soften the adhesive and gently lift it from the wall making sure most of the adhesive stays on the decal.

Hi Lisa, I would try a blow dryer and move on to, perhaps, a heat gun or even an iron. Heat will get that glue to maybe give for you. Moving them to another room you will have to add a different kind of glue to them.

I have had mixed results removing wall decals. The one method that usually works for me is to give a burst of heat at one side with my hair dryer, and work that side loose. Have waxed paper or a piece of vinyl to stick it to as you remove it so it doesn't get damaged. Take your time removing it. Good luck and stay safe!

yeah I would use a blow dryer to warm up the decal and soften the glue. Gently peel it off.

Heat it a bit with a hair dryer and peel it off. The heat should help it come up easily

Were they supposed to be re-usable? If so they should peel . If they were self adhesive backed then it probably wouldn't peel off. Maybe a warm Iron over brow paper might melt the glue enough for you to remove. Good luck!

I have decals and they are removable. You just have to be VERY careful and not stretch or tear them.

How were these originally applied?

You could try heating it to remove. Then add new adhesive when you move it.

I've removed them with a hairdryer, but it places they did tear some of the paint off the wall. Also, I never tried to restick them. Not sure they're made for that. Best of luck!

If you want to save it cover with 2 or 3 inch wide tape trace each letter with the tape then peel off the decal and then tape to the wall I don’t think you will be able to get that off any other way

You might be able to peel it off and reattach with double stick tape

if they were re-usable then just heat up gently and all will pop

You might see if you can figure out who the manufacturer was and ask them. It's probably unlikely that you can remove and re-stick them.
