Shutters come in many designs. Nothing is wrong as long as it suits you and your home. We even made shutters using a frame of timber and attaching Plastic Garden Mesh (comes in White, Green and Brown) But you could use Trellis - Anything goes. Some I know of have used Galvanised Roofing within a frame. Enjoy the journey!
