What is your rust stain on? Here is how to remove from fabric or clothing: If you've got rust on clothing it can be removed with either white vinegar or lemon juice. Lay the clothing or fabric out on an old towel and pour a small amount of white vinegar directly on the stain - or rub a cut lemon half on the stain. Saturate it thoroughly, then blot it with a clean white towel.
You can soak the stain in vinegar.
rust stains on what?....fabric to concrete? For concrete you can still use vinegar and scrub with a hard bristle brush. For a sink, you can make a paste out of vinegar and baking soda and let sit, scrub.
You don't say what the rust stain is on, but WD-40 might help or Stain Devil for Rust!

If it's on metal, some fine steel wool should remove it.
Rust is also removed by CLR (calcium, lime, rusr) available at Walmart and diy stores.

Is wood fabric or metal. I keep a mason jar full of vinegar and soak my rusty garden equipment in it it does a wonderful job removing all that buildup.
