How do I smooth out glass?

I need to smooth out sharp edges on glass tiles, any suggestions?

You'll need to use a rubbing stone. Check in your local hardware or home improvement store for one.

Hello. I have used a nail file on some glassware that had mild issues, if you have multiples perhaps a dremmel or grinder might help.

What are you wanting to do with the tiles if you are able to smooth out the edges?
Are they for a craft project, or are you putting the tiles on a wall?

Would it matter?

Yes, depending on how the tiles will be used, it could matter if the edges were rough or smooth. For example, grouting will adhere more securely to a rough edge, as opposed to smooth.

Hi Rhonda, hope this helps you to smooth the edges of your glass tiles. Be safe.
View allSand down the edges with 150-grit, 220-grit, 320-grit, then finally 400-grit sandpaper to make your glass even smoother. Then, use 1000-grit and 2000-grit sandpaper to polish the edge to perfection. Wipe the edge of the glass with a clean damp cloth once you've finished sanding to wipe away any leftover grit or dust.
