This quick + easy DIY tutorial will show you how to take inexpensive decorative orange pumpkins and give them a complete makeover with Rustoleum "Chalked" Spray Paint.

$1 DIY Painted Pumpkins: Before and After
Pick out your inexpensive decorative pumpkins.

I found these adorable mini-pumpkin clips from the DollarTree. They come in a set of three for $1.

Pick out your inexpensive decorative pumpkins.

I also found small decorative pumpkins at Walmart for 98 cents each.

Remove the pumpkin stems.

The pumpkins are made of a styrofoam center, so if you gently pull and twist on the stems they come right out.

Set the stems aside while you paint.

Rustoleum Chalked Spray Paint.

I used the Rustoleum "Chalked" spray paint in the color "Chiffon Cream". It is the perfect soft white for natural looking white pumpkins.

Spray paint your pumpkins.

Take your (now stemless) pumpkins outside and give them two light coats of spray paint.

Re-insert the pumpkin stems.

Once the pumpkins are completely dry, bring them back inside and push the stems back down into the pumpkins.

That's it!

Decorate!

Now you have beautiful decorative white pumpkins! I mixed mine with some larger white pumpkins to make a neutral fall tablescape.

Can the chalked paint be written on after it is painted on the pumpkins?

For a dinner party, write each guest's name on a mini pumpkin for their place setting, then they can take it home with them as a souvenir of the occasion.

Very pretty! This is what i call "simple elegance". Love the entire table-scape. Varying the height of the candlesticks makes it SO interesting. "Imitation is the highest form of flattery" , and i plan to really flatter you really soon. ( hope you see the humor intended here). Other than the bronzy flatware, i think i have the pieces to put it together. Yay! I am excited about setting my Fall table. Thank you for sharing your ideas and your beautiful dining room !!!! Enjoy!
