According to amazon reviews it looks like GreenWorks is at the top of the brands.
I bought the Works edger and weedwacker in one. Turns to edger by putting your foot on the shield and applying pressure. Pretty inexpensive and came with 2 battery packs.
I have had great success with a weedeater that can do double duty as an edger. You just flip the head and it even has a guide for edging to go along the sidewalk or driveway.
I have a rotating blade attachment for my weed whacker. It has about 5" blade, a wheel, and edge guide that keeps blade away from sidewalk. They also have these as a stand alone trimmer if you don't have a convertible weed whacker.

Hello. I have a wonderful tool that makes it quite easy. I can outperform my husband and his spade with it. We just placed 160 bags of mulch. This tool did most of the edging. Slightly moist soil helps.
