How do i get big picture tube out of tv safely?
I have a nice looking old tv console that I really would like to reuse but the vacuum picture tube is heavy. I did manage to put console face down on the floor but now what do I do? and how do I get ride of the tube?

Hi Rosie. I did a bit of reading in order to answer your question. This is what I learned: Wear safety goggles for this job. Unplug the tv. And then begin by removing the screws holding the case together. Slide the case off. Discharge the crt and cut the ground wires from the tube. It should come out at this point. You may need to push the tube in order to pull it out. Good luck Rosie.

WOW! Someone with an old vacuum tube TV still exists. Everything that is put together was once individual pieces. Find the clips or fasteners and remove them. Also, get a strong young person to help with the weight.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser usually works miracles. If it is a "plastic" one, try Easy Off Oven cleaner (blue kind).
