I have an old console TV that I would like to turn into a Fish tank! Does anyone have any idea on how or who I can take my console TV too to help this project!
From what I have seen in the past. People just remove the console and put a tank inside. If you are wanting one made special to fit inside you can approach someone like pet barn and ask if they can help.
Try to find a tank the exact width size of that TV dimensions. That sounds like a fun project. You might want to make the top of the console on a hinge. Just throwing out a couple of ideas.
Hello. Interesting project. If you happen to do the project I would be interested to see how it’s done myself, you should consider taking a few photographs and posting your project here for the Hometalk community to view.
Sorry, I'm not any help other than in general remove the "guts" and replace with a tank. However, if you do it - please post as a project. I would love to see it.
Ummm, you'd have to take out the contents, of course, measure the space where the tank will be entered into. I would try Amazon for a tank with measurements in mind. Or find someone who builds tanks, that might be more expensive though, to have a custom one. You might also have to have something in there to support the weight of the tank with "X" gallons of water, plus the weight of all the colored gravel and other fish environment stuff.
Just looking at your tv set, the picture tube is rather close to the floor, have you considered putting legs on the cabinet so you will be able to see your fish swimming?
From your picture (thank you for posting a picture-that takes a lot of guess work out), I am having a time figuring out how much area there is front to back.
Make sure whatever you build you reinforce the bottom. The original frame was meant to hold a tv. A tank filled with water is EXTREMELY heavy so be sure what yo build is strong enough to support the new weight.

Hello,
Enquire at your local Fish Centre, as you could find someone there that is willing to do it for you or help you do it yourself. Enjoy!

I would remove the TV components and find an aquarium that fits the opening. You can add trim if needed if tank is too small.
