  • Contact the store where you purchased it. It's new and should be working properly.

Hello I would suggest calling the manufacturer for support help. It could be a defective chair.

You or someone should look up under the chair and behind the footrest. There could still be a twine tie or wire that's tied from the underside of the footrest to underneath the chair (to keep footrest secure during shipping). Untie the wire/twine to free the footrest. Good luck!

Take a look here to see if anything here applies to your problem, I do like Baxter's response and would look there first:

Yes call the manufacturer. If you do unauthorized repairs yourself you could invalidate your warranty.

If that is the design you can add a pillow to raise your feet. Normally the foot rest is about 1/2 between floor and seat.

Hello Donna. I would call the store where you purchased it from. I think your chair is defective. They should repair or replace it. If you don't get any satisfaction, post a review on their web site as a last resort. Good luck Donna.

Agree with Kathy, I just brought 2 and the foot doesn't go all the way up (flip hazard). Just add a thin pillow under your legs for comfort. I slept in one on one night was like floating on air, but I do like to sleep on my side most of the time.

My client sleeps in his during the day and I recline him. And the lift feature sure helps getting him on his feet using a walker. Best purchase I made all year.

Also to keep the pillow on the foot rest, you can use 2 bungee cords, or 2 rachet straps, or get 2 pieces of elastic long enough to go around and safety pin it on the underside to hold the pillow on.

    Hi Donna,

Return it and say it is faulty, or get the company to come and sort it for you. If it was bought second hand then call the manufacturer and ask if they have a maintenance dept. or can suggest a service company to you. Best wishes.

Since you just purchased it, read through the instructions carefully. Perhaps there's packing materials included inside the chair that needs removed, untied, or cut away for the chair to work as it should. If not, then call the store where you bought it or advice. This may be a common problem that they can readily handle. If not, then contact the manufacturer (the store should be able to refer you to them). Good Luck!

Hi! It probably needs servicing no matter if it was purchased new or used. If new, it should be covered. If used, use an authorized repair person. It may need only a simple adjustment. Compare it online to an identical chair for positions, etc. I've seen a lot of redesigns in recliners over the years, to make them safer, so make sure your chair actually does what you want it to. Good luck and stay safe!

Make sure you have it fully reclined. Sometimes you just have to push it back one more notch. Some chairs have a stop just half way back.

Hope this fixes your problem, Donna.
