How to protect vintage sink finish?
I have a vintage porcelain coated cast iron kitchen sink. The finish/porcelain is in really tremendous shape/condition considering its age. Is there something I should/can use on it to help protect it? I plan on putting mats in the bottom of the bowls to keep pots/pans from scratching the finish, but I was wondering if there was a protectant overall ...

I didn't see anything listed to use to protect the finish on your sink - they make little coated racks to put on the bottom of the sink to keep from scratching with dishes and pots and pans. Here is more info

At my mom's house we have one that is original to the house. Even when it was remodeled, they kept as many of the old fixtures as possible. House was built in 1926. We did nothing special and still in great shape. However, do not use Ajax or Comet to scrub the sink, over time it will eat through the finish. Only Barkeepers Friend or Bon Ami. Mine is only 36 years old and still in decent shape considering it was manufacturated much later. I do have the plastic coated dish racks on the bottom to keep from scratching.
My sister in law put wax on hers. I think it had to be re applied depending on wear & usage.
I’d just use a gentle cleaner like Bar Keeper’s Friend and maybe put a no-scratch type rack (I’d avoid anything that traps moisture like plastic or rubber) in the bottom.
