Spaghetti Squash. Lucky you!
You must have enjoyed spaghetti squash in the past or at least a bird or a rodent did. Enjoy, it looks healthy.
What a happy surprise and treat. It looks to be a very healthy Spaghetti Squash. Enjoy!
Hello. Agree with above posters. It appears to be a squash vine and a fruiting one. Congratulations on the unexpected find.
Hi there Rich. Yes, it's a spaghetti squash. I see that you already have a mature squash. I also see that you have a beautiful blossom. I would keep the plant watered. The blossom will grow into another spaghetti squash. And here's how to cook it. First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Cut the squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds. Drizzle a little oil on the two halves, and season with salt and pepper. Place it cut side down on a baking sheet and roast 40 mins. Remove from oven and shred the inside with a fork. It will look just like real spaghetti. Yay. You can add some cooked sausage, placed right on top of the spaghetti. Next layer add a little spaghetti sauce. Bake for 40 mins. Then put some mozzarella cheese on top and bake another 5 to 10 mins. Serve with garlic bread. Good luck Rich.
Hi there,
Lucky You! You have a SQUASH! How great is that with no effort at all!!
Butternut
looks like butternut squash to me!
Wow! A surprise squash. How awesome!
It is odd. Spaghetti squash are usually oval and deeper yellow. The shape is more like a Hubbard though. One way to tell cut it and bake it. If it is a spaghetti squash treat it like spaghetti and add alfredo sauce or marinara of meat sauce. If a hubbard the flesh is orangeish solid and eat it with butter salt and pepper like mashed potato.
It is a type of spaghetti squash plant from the info I found
In Australia, we call it a "Butternut Squash"
Cool, your compost is growing spaghetti squash, enjoy
Hi Rich, looks like some type of squash, what a nice surprise. We used to have a pet pig and he loved watermelon, After giving him a treat I would rinse the pan in the hose and throw the water on the rocks under the pool deck. One year we had the best watermelons and we never planted them. Gods gifts to us. Enjoy
It looks like butternut squash to me... one of my favorites.
It's a squash! Maybe some seeds got tossed in there or dropped there by a bird?
A spaghetti squash is yellow, completely oval and has round ends. a butternut squash has flat ends is more of a peach color and has an indented shape like that one.
It's not ready to pick yet.
