How do I repair the shower stall in my 5th wheel trailer?

My shower stall got stained from the sunshine coming through the ceiling. I am desperate to paint it but I do not know what to use. I am going to be living in this trailer (thanks to COVID) and I just cannot shower in it as is. If anyone has any suggestions on how to paint the stall or repair it, PLEASE let me know! I cannot afford to replace it.

PS.....I have photos but it is telling me they are too small to upload? I do not know how to change the size. Basically, the shower stall is a burnt yellowish orange from where the sunshine stained it. ANY help is greatly appreciated!

What is the shower stall made of? There are paints made for different types of surfaces, so it's important for us to know that before suggesting advice.

Check out the RustOleum kit. It's great and should last several years. Just make sure you have help, wear a mask, and vent the area well.

Hello. I’m not sure such stains can be removed. We have had our Jacuzzi Jets discolor do the sunshine UV exposure. Perhaps there’s a paint products that they use on tubs and sinks that are complete rehabilitation coverage could be attempted.

    Hello there,

If it is around the top and away from the water you could use Stick on tile covers or Contact. Otherwise, close your eyes when in the shower! Don't worry - plan ahead!

Yep the rustoleum tub and shower painting kits would be my first suggestion as well. I've heard they work AMAZING. There are other options though, a peal and stick backsplash tile put on with some serious glue and sealant might work also.

Thank you! Unfortunately, it is the WHOLE shower stall so tic tac tiles won't work. I'm gonna try Rustoleum!

If it trully is fiberglass and not resin, you could also use an autopaint for fiberglass, and then top with a coating of carnuba auto wax. Check with your local auto parts store.

Hi Staci. You can bring new life to it by painting the shower stall. Begin with a clean surface. Then use an enamel paint, which is waterproof and stands up well to the moist conditions in the shower. Good luck Staci.

Apply an epoxy-based paint to the the entire tub and shower area with a spray gun or can. Allow to dry. If the color is not dark enough, apply a second coat.

There are different kinds of paints available on the market. You can search on the web. These have different specifications and variety of colors. Do some research on the blogs and forums and you might get some good feedback on other people’s experiences.
