Diane: Can you please post a photo so we can see exactly what it is you are talking about. Then we can offer advise.. Thanks
I think it would make a great plant stand or side table. If you make it into a table, you may want to consider a glass top so the figure can be seen.
Yes I would make a smal table and add glass on top to see the bottom
Hi there Diane. My name is Cindy. Do you have any Indian ancestors? If you do, you could make a totem pole. One that describes your life journey. Beside the wooden piece that you already have, you could use coffee cans, cardboard boxes, cereal boxes, etc. An empty coffee can could be spray painted, and then decorated. Something meant to represent a particular period in your life. And, Diane, after you have a few sections, then turn it into a lamp. Now there's a real conversation starter.
Hello Diane,
Yes, Plant / Vase Stand, Wine Table, Totem Pole, Lamp Base, but before you do anything with it, it might be worth asking an antiques dealer what it would be worth as it is! Best wishes.
Hi Dianne, do you have a pic you can put up? Sounds like a cool project. You would need to buy a circular piece of glass to put on top if the figure has a flat surface that you can put the table top on top of. You can get them at Micheals, amazon, maybe Joanne fabrics. Usually craft stores will have them. Good luck!
Hi Diane, I love that you want to reuse your coloumn! A table sounds perfect. You could add a glass or wood top and create a small side table or plant stand. You could also use it as is and put a lamp on top or something that size without having to alter he original column at all. It would also look beautiful in a garden as a decorating amount the plants.
You could put a table top in it and cover with a marine varnish to make it safe to use outdoors.
I love the idea of a unique side table like that!
Make custom wooden chess pieces.
I think a table would be nice
