Turn any outdated piece into a ceramic masterpiece! I choose a clear glass flower pot! Once you choose your piece and your color, you can create this look on almost anything! This is a simple, cheap, and quick project for anyone looking to upgrade some old pieces!

Materials

You only need a few materials for this simple project! Choose your piece that you want painted, and after that you'll need; acrylic paint (any color), baking powder, a paintbrush, a bowl, a spoon, and a measuring utensil.

Step One

Pour your paint into a bowl.

Step Two

Add in your baking powder and mix. I added about a teaspoon of baking powder.

Step Three

Mix the paint and the baking powder together until you get a foamy texture. This creates the ceramic look.

Step Four

Paint on your first layer. Try to eliminate bumps and lumps in the paint. Let it dry completely! I made a mistake and didn't let it dry completely- my bottom layer of paint globed up in a few spaces giving it an undesired 3D effect.

Step Five

Enjoy! I love the matte, ceramic look and feel of this piece! It gives this jar character, and interest! I can't wait to upgrade other pieces I have laying around my house!
