Can you recommend one?
What country do you live in?
Here's some from Amazon:
The Black and Decker works well for our purposes, which is more on the light side of any tree work. You will pay more for the heavy duty ones, a used one would give you a break on the price, be sure you get a demo and try it out before buying.
HI, Got thinking about your question a bit further, might be a good time to check out the pawn shops.
It would depend on the type of work you are going to do with it. Although I would say it is 100% worth the investment to purchase a Husqvarna, they are outside your budget unless you can find one used. We bought one for $50 for my son at a yard sale and it has worked as well as the one we paid $350 for new at retail.
That said, if it you looking for light duty you might consider a rechargeable pole saw. It is not designed for large trees and has a shorter bar but it is excellent for smaller jobs. We purchased ours at Lowe's and got the Kobalt. It is 5+ years old and has been a trooper.
All that said, if you really need a full size saw then Black & Decker would probably be the best in that price range. Make sure you use full synthetic oil in it, keep it oiled, and crank it on a regular basis. That should help to cut down on the maintenance.
Okay I'll keep that in my mind. Thanks for your tips
Hi James, this might b e a starting point for you......
It sure looks the same! Seems a lot of men prefer gas chain saws and a few of these that were reviewed are electric. I suppose it depends where you plan to use the saw.....cutting down trees in the woods?....go gas. Personally, I don't like anything I have to "pull" to start such as a lawn mower, chain saw, leaf blower, etc.
We got a Ryobi from Home Depot for under $200 and it's been great for our needs.
When I get home , I can check the garage!
Look at your local home store and any local forestry supply stores. If you do some research you should be able to find one. Or wait till the come on sale - maybe Black Friday has deals coming?
James, take a look on Amazon. You might find something there and there is Prime Day coming up there. Maybe you can get one for a really good price
Stihl was always the brand I heard about when I was kid and EVERYONE had a Stihl because it was said to be the best. Nowadays I would check reviews on Amazon. I got just an awesome little electric Green Works chainsaw from Amazon last year that I remain really impressed by. Here's the link https://amzn.to/33g6djd
I really liked it
Does it need to be new? I'd check out Facebook market or craigslist and see if you can find one in your price range!
I need new one
I bought this one and I'm really happy with it so far. I've owned it for a year: https://amzn.to/3ii4rST
