Hi Jane, here's several posts about Hometalkers who have made tee pee tents. Hope one of these inspires you........
Poles of any kind pushed into the ground in a circle with gaps in between and tied together at the top with what ever you have. Wrap around the poles anything from a Bed Sheet - Blankets etc. and secure at the top with a tie. To hold the fabric to the poles use what ever you have from, Bulldog Clips to String etc. Hope that is of some help to you!

I used it as a base camp for wildlife research taking it with me via canoe or dog team.

1/2" PVC and fittings make a sturdy frame. Don't glue the PVC so you can take it apart when you want to store it. Sheets, blankets, or even buffalo hides would work.
