  • Seek out items that are taller to help bridge the distance, like a vase with some dried grasses and maybe a sculptural piece. Vary the heights of the objects so it doesn't look static, that the eye moves.

Ok, the lace runner is nice, put the lamp in the center and remove everything else but the runner. There is too much going on with the assorted sized picture frames and (can't tell what the object is in the front center-kind of dark). If you want to add more to the top, maybe some short identical candles on each side of the lamp. Hope I didn't hurt your feelings.

Put the mirror longways. Replace the lamp with a candlestick lamp and shade. Eliminate the lace runner and place a low floral arrangement . Try to put the pictures in matching frames.

Center the lamp. Pictures on the sides. Get rid of the lace.

  • The mirror is too wide for the table. Turn the mirror vertical. I think a taller lamp would look better. Start with that and then see how you like it.

Hi! I think this mirror should be hung vertically! Also, the lamp needs to be taller. (If a new lamp is not in the budget... I love putting a lamp on a stack of three books! -- problem solved!)

To get it to coordinate with the mirror, I add a silver element to the chest top such as reframe or paint the picture frames silver. I would get rid of the rest, its too much going on.

Additionally, I would redo the chest..... paint the top silver and age it with some black. And then do the drawer pulls in a silver tone. The rest of the chest you can do in a color to coordinate with your other room accents.

I agree turn the mirror 90 degrees to verticle.

Hi! What is making it hard for you is how the mirror is so much wider than the table. Turning the mirror might work. A wider table under the mirror would also help. You could consider hanging the mirror lower, too. A pretty centerpiece would look great!

You could graduate from tall to short items. Add a bit of greenery or color. In general, use the rule I’d 3sin decorating.

Hello. The large mirror overwhelms your smaller furniture piece. Agree with the above posters try to flip the mirror around to see if it better suits the furniture below it in the space footprint.

    Hello,

To balance the Mirror, underneath wants to be a substantial piece of furniture

Heavy or dark. The two pieces should not really be together, as one detracts from the other. Try turning the mirror and colouring the chest under.

Oh so many answers. Leave the lace, leave the lamp where it is. Do NOT put the lamp in the middle flanked by candles. SO boring. SO wrong in proportion. Attach the photos to the wall instead with small nails. Add a small item to the far right like a great dish that won't block the view of the photos.

Place the mirror vertically, so that the table does not look so small. Use a larger lamp although the one you have may look good if you switch the mirror around.

    Hi,

It would help if you turned the mirror on it' end, or go a much bigger table. Best wishes.

  • Clear the table, but leave the lamp to where it is. Then hang the pictures.
